ABOUT

Jason Alexander Grout is an Architecture Student in the College of Design at The University of Kentucky. Originally from Florence, Kentucky, he is currently residing in Lexington, Kentucky. 

 

He is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Architecture with the

UK College of Design with a focus on environmental sustainability and adaptive reuse. He has received awards for Excellence in a First, Second, and Third Year Studios, having been nominated by professors, Rives Rash, John Morrison, Brian Andrews, and Anthony Roccanova. He also currently holds the position of Graphic Design Chair for the UK Chapter of AIAS.

 

To pursue his passion for teaching and working with students, he acted as a Team Advisor and Residential Advisor with the National Student Leadership Conference Flagship Architectural Program at Northwestern University in 2017.  In doing this, he helped to write curriculum, instruct students in design demonstrations, and critique the student's final projects. He returned to the program in 2018, taking the position of Head Team Advisor.

 

In Spring 2018, he attended the Danish Institute of Study Abroad studying Architecture. He resided in København, Denmark for four months, learning from professors from København University and local architects from firms such as Effekt and SLA and Ramboll. He also studied the Scandinavia approach to environmentally-consious design and sustainable building practices.
