Courtyard House
Crossing Views // 2015
This project was a study in the relationships between indoor and outdoor spaces. The courtyards act as the destinations while the structure itself is merely circulatory space. Not only were the courtyards accessible from several points in the house, they are all visible from one another. Studies in sight lines between courtyards were a primary focus. Inspired by the Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois, the use of large glass panes not only aids to the aforementioned sight-lines but also give the project a sense of a weightless roof.
